About this talk

Northern California is a wonderful place to live. We’ve had our fair share of floods, drought, and fires. Often running multiple National Dislocated Worker Grants(NDWG) concurrently. The largest NDWG project was in response to the Camp Fire. The Camp Fire of November 2018 was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history and the most expensive natural disaster in the world in 2018 in terms of insured losses.

Michael Cross, Executive Director for the NoRTEC Workforce Development Board and Traci Holt, Executive Director for the Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc., will share their experience in bringing stakeholders together to provide immediate services to those impacted by disaster.

The Northern Rural Training and Employment Consortium (NoRTEC), also known as the Workforce Development Board, oversees WIOA programs for eleven (11) Northern California counties – Butte, Del Norte, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity Counties.
The Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc.(AFWD) operates WIOA services in six of NoRTEC’s eleven counties.
